The Committee of Troop 288 requires all adults to be trained
if they are to be leaders, committee members or even joining for camping.
The good news is that training is online and easy to do.
We require that all adults take the first 3 courses listed below; these
classes will help to protect our scouts as well as give parents a better
understanding of the difference between cub scouts and boys scouts.
All committee members must (and all adults are encouraged to take so they
understand what is going on behind the scenes) - Troop Committee
Challenge. All adults camping with the scouts need to also have the
Safety Afloat, Safe Swim Defense and Weather Hazards. In addition,
all adults camping with the scouts need to complete SMS (Scoutmaster
Specifics) and IOLS (Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills) within
their 1st year (these courses are offered at the District or Council
